In line with our mission to foster ecological awareness and youth engagement, Prithibhaya-Vedantsara Foundation organized a series of impactful events titled “Understanding the Environment Crisis: Awareness and Action” across three key regions of Jammu & Kashmir. These sessions were conducted during October–November 2024 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and community members.
📍 Bani Region
Date: 5th October 2024
Venue: Holy Hut Public High School & Bani Public High School, Bani
Description:
The event focused on local environmental degradation, including deforestation, groundwater depletion, and climate change impacts in the Himalayan foothills. Students presented street plays, posters, and shared ideas on eco-friendly living.
📍 Jammu Region
Date: 25th October 2024
Venue: Guru Teg Bahadur Convent School, Channi Rama, Jammu
Description:
The program shed light on urban environmental issues such as air pollution, waste management, and the urgent need for green spaces in cities. Expert speakers interacted with students on how they can become eco-leaders in urban society.
📍 Kathua Region
Date: 14th November 2024
Venue: Govt. High School Phalote, Zone Barnoti, Kathua
Description:
This session highlighted rural water scarcity, agricultural pollution, and the importance of conservation-based farming. The school’s eco club shared their plantation success stories, encouraging peer-to-peer learning.
Total Audience: Over 500 students across the three events.
Certificates Awarded: 40 students were recognized for their active participation, presentations, and innovative ideas, and were awarded Certificates of Participation by the Foundation.
We sincerely thank the school authorities, faculty, and student volunteers for their cooperation and active participation. Special gratitude to the teachers who supported the sessions and to our field team for organizing these successful outreach events.
